Sundargarh, Odisha : A tragic incident unfolded near the popular Ghohgar tourist destination, close to Kana Kund in Sundargarh district, when two youths were swept away by the strong current of the Ib River while bathing on Wednesday.
The missing individuals have been identified as Roshan Paswan and Akash Sahu, both residents of Gobindpur village under Bamara Block in Sambalpur district. Along with their friend Jay Narayan Patra, they had arrived at Ghohgar to explore the scenic spot.
The unfortunate event occurred under the jurisdiction of Talasara Police Station, within Baliashankara Panchayat, when the group entered the Ib River for bathing. Witnesses say that Roshan and Akash were suddenly caught in the current and disappeared into the river.
Upon receiving the information, Baliashankara Fire Services rushed to the scene and promptly began search and rescue operations, which are currently ongoing.
