New Delhi / Kathmandu : Sh. K.S. Sood, DIG (Retd.), Border Security Force, has once again etched his name in the annals of adventure with a feat that blends courage, endurance, and a rare familial bond. Displaying exceptional grit, the 70-year-old veteran has successfully led three generations of his family on two of the world’s most iconic Himalayan treks.

In a remarkable achievement in May 2024, Sh. Sood, alongside his two daughters and granddaughter, completed the arduous journey to Mount Everest Base Camp (5,364 meters). This extraordinary expedition earned them a World Record for being the “First Family of Three Generations to Trek to Everest Base Camp.”
Undeterred by the magnitude of their first accomplishment, the family set out on yet another challenging mission this year. From April 27 to May 5, 2025, they undertook the scenic but strenuous Annapurna Base Camp Trek (4,130 meters) in Nepal. Covering a staggering 110 kilometers, including over 43 kilometers of unforgiving stone steps, the family once again showcased unmatched resilience, physical endurance, and unity of spirit.
These exceptional achievements are more than just trekking triumphs — they stand as a powerful symbol of intergenerational inspiration, determination, and the indomitable human spirit. Sh. Sood’s leadership and the family’s shared pursuit of adventure echo the values of discipline and perseverance that transcend generations.
Their story continues to inspire countless individuals and families, proving that with courage and togetherness, even the highest summits can be reached — literally and metaphorically.
