New Delhi: Former Indian chief selector MSK Prasad has confidently backed Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. He called the veteran duo huge assets for India as the Men in Blue prepare for the 2027 ODI World Cup. Their efforts have made Rohit Kohli assets for India in cricket.

Meanwhile, he praised their recent performances. He noted how the pair guided India to a nine-wicket win in the third ODI against Australia. This victory helped the team avoid a series whitewash and demonstrated how Rohit Kohli assets for India have played a key role.

In particular, Rohit Sharma scored 121 not out, continuing his fine form from Adelaide. He notched his 33rd ODI century, ranking third for most hundreds behind Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar. On the other hand, Virat Kohli bounced back from successive ducks in the first two ODIs with an unbeaten 74. He surpassed Kumar Sangakkara to become the second-highest run-getter in Men’s ODIs history with 14,255 runs from 305 matches.

Prasad emphasized, “People should not judge them solely by their current form. Rohit has regained full fitness, and Virat has always been fit. Their experience and skills make them invaluable. Therefore, they are big assets for India heading into the World Cup.”

Moreover, the former chief selector praised Rohit, Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja for passing the baton to the next generation after India’s T20 World Cup victory. Thus, it is evident how Rohit Kohli represent vital assets for India by mentoring younger talent.

Additionally, Prasad highlighted India’s depth in talent. He pointed out that players like Shreyas Iyer have struggled to find a T20 spot, which underscores the team’s strength and competitiveness.

With Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli back in form and fully fit, India can rely on these experienced stars as key assets for India in 2027. They provide leadership, stability, and match-winning potential in crucial World Cup encounters.
