Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) junior selection committee has announced the squads for the upcoming Men’s U19 One-Day Challenger Trophy, scheduled to take place in Hyderabad from November 5 to 11.
Among the notable names in the squads is Rahul Dravid’s son Anvay, the younger son of former Indian captain and head coach Rahul Dravid. Anvay will represent Team C, led by Aaron George of Hyderabad. His inclusion has generated buzz across the cricketing community, marking another proud moment for the Dravid family.
Rahul Dravid’s son Anvay has already made headlines in domestic cricket, having led Karnataka’s U-19 team to a remarkable victory in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy last month. Playing a captain’s innings, he remained unbeaten on 82 runs off 93 balls while chasing a target of 236, guiding his team to victory. His leadership and composure at the crease have drawn comparisons to his father’s calm and disciplined style.
The Challenger Trophy will feature four teams Team A, Team B, Team C, and Team D comprising some of the best young cricketing talents from across the country. Each squad has been selected by the BCCI’s junior committee with the objective of identifying promising players for future national representation.
As Anvay prepares to take the field for Team C, fans and selectors alike will be watching closely to see if Rahul Dravid’s son Anvay can emulate his father’s legacy. The tournament promises exciting cricketing action and a glimpse of India’s next generation of stars.
