Bhubaneswar, Odisha : The Odisha Hockey Team secured the silver medal in the men’s category of the 15th Junior National Hockey Championship, and today, the team was honored by Sports Minister Shri Surya Banshi Suraj for their outstanding performance.
During the ceremony, the Sports Minister congratulated all the players for their achievement and encouraged them to continue showcasing excellence in the future. He emphasized that their efforts bring pride and glory to Odisha and motivated them to aim for higher accolades in upcoming national and international tournaments.
The felicitation program was attended by Hockey India President Shri Dilip Tirkey, Commissioner of Sports & Youth Services, Shri Sachin Ramchandra Yadav, Director Dr. Yedula Vijay, and Odisha Hockey Promotion Council Chief Executive Shri Deepankar Mahapatra, along with senior officials from the state sports department.
The Sports Minister also highlighted the importance of youth engagement in sports and assured full support to the team for training and development. This recognition not only honors the team but also inspires young athletes across Odisha to pursue excellence in hockey and other sports disciplines.
