Bhubaneswar, Odisha : Today, Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi laid the foundation stone for 27 industries across 12 districts at a program organized by the Industries Department at the Convention Center at OUAT, marking a significant milestone in Odisha’s industrial journey. The Chief Minister announced that these projects will attract over Rs. 25 thousand crore in investment and create employment opportunities for more than 52,000 youth.
Speaking at the event, Shri Majhi emphasized that each new investment in Odisha strengthens investor confidence. “When investors choose Odisha, it reflects their trust in our policies and our dedication to promoting industrial growth. We are attracting investments in high-value products and moving up the manufacturing value chain to produce goods that can compete globally,” he said.
The Chief Minister highlighted that his government has completed 15 months in office and has approved 260 industrial projects during this period. These projects have brought in Rs. 5.6 lakh crore of investment and generated 3.6 lakh jobs. “In the past 15 months, we laid the foundation for 84 industrial projects, attracting more than Rs. 2 lakh crore and creating 1.64 lakh employment opportunities,” he added.
Assuring industrialists of government support, Shri Majhi said the state offers special incentives and industry-friendly policies for setting up industries. He stressed that the government has removed bureaucratic barriers and remains committed to assisting entrepreneurs at every step of their journey.
The Chief Minister also called on entrepreneurs to join the “Ek Peed Ma Ki Naam 2.0” campaign by planting saplings in their areas. The initiative aligns with the upcoming 75th birth anniversary of the late Prime Minister on September 17, when Odisha plans to plant 75 lakh trees as a tribute.
Using virtualization, Shri Majhi inaugurated industrial projects in Ganjam, Khordha, Jharsuguda, Koraput, and Angul, and promoted newly established industrialists. Industries Minister Shri Sampada Chandra Swain said Odisha’s efficient administration and investor-friendly environment have made it an industrially prosperous state. He praised the Chief Minister’s vision for boosting economic growth.
Chief Secretary Shri Manoj Ahuja remarked that determination and effort lead to success. “The Chief Minister has consistently sought ways to build industrial growth from the ground up, and the state is now witnessing progress across sectors,” he said.
The program also saw the presence of Development Commissioner Mrs. Anu Garg, prominent industrialists, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries Department Shri Hemant Sharma, who delivered the welcome address, and Commissioner and Secretary, Skill Development Department Shri Bhupendra Singh Punia, who proposed the vote of thanks.
