Bhubaneswar : After concluding a high-level three-day visit to New Delhi, BJP Odisha President Manmohan Samal returned to Bhubaneswar on Friday and set the political tone with a series of significant announcements. Amid intense speculation surrounding a possible state cabinet reshuffle, Samal put all rumors to rest, asserting that no discussion regarding cabinet expansion took place during his Delhi visit.
“There was no talk about cabinet reshuffling. It was a courtesy visit. Our discussions centered solely around organizational affairs and pending internal matters,” Samal clarified while addressing the media at the state BJP headquarters.
In a crucial revelation, Samal confirmed that the Odisha BJP will soon have a newly formed organizational committee, aligned with the party’s constitutional provisions. He announced that 25 percent of the committee will feature new faces, aimed at rejuvenating the party’s state unit with a blend of youth and experience.
“This new committee will represent a balance of continuity and change. Once formed, it will lay down a fresh roadmap for the party’s future in Odisha,” he added.
The formation process has already begun, with a series of internal meetings scheduled for today and tomorrow at the state party office. These meetings, to be held under the leadership of central observers and state in-charges, will focus on strategy, outreach, and strengthening the party at the grassroots.
Addressing governance issues, Samal assured that appointments to vacant corporation posts will be made soon. He also addressed growing public concerns over women’s safety in the state.
“We have thoroughly reviewed recent incidents of violence against women. Strong corrective measures will be taken. There will be zero tolerance in such matters,” the BJP president stated firmly.
In a compassionate gesture, Samal revealed that he personally met with the family of the minor girl from Balanga, whose health condition had drawn widespread concern. He informed that BJP leaders have coordinated with AIIMS doctors to ensure the best possible treatment for the child.
“We are in constant touch with the medical team. The child’s condition is being closely monitored, and every effort is being made to aid her recovery,” Samal said.
