Mumbai : Popular actress and model Shefali Jariwala, famously known as the Kanta Laga Girl, passed away yesterday at the age of 42 following a sudden cardiac arrest.
According to reports, Shefali was rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Andheri on Friday afternoon by her husband and actor Parag Tyagi, along with three others. However, she was declared dead on arrival. Initial medical findings confirm cardiac arrest as the cause of death. Her body was later sent to Cooper Hospital for post-mortem, which reaffirmed the preliminary diagnosis.
Shefali shot to instant fame in 2002 with her appearance in the music video Kanta Laga, becoming a household name across India. Over the years, she appeared in several television serials and reality shows including Bigg Boss and Nach Baliye, captivating audiences with her performances and vibrant personality.
Her sudden demise has left fans and well wishers in shock. Social media has been flooded with tributes and messages of condolence from admirers across the nation.
Shefali was earlier married to musician Harmeet Singh of the Meet Bros duo in 2004, with the relationship ending in 2009. In 2015, she married actor Parag Tyagi.
