Srinagar : A major mishap was averted in Jammu & Kashmir’s Ganderbal district when an Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) bus skidded off a slippery road and fell into the Sindh River early this morning. The incident occurred near Kulan, reportedly due to continuous heavy rainfall in the region.

According to official sources, the bus was travelling along a mountainous stretch when it lost control and plunged straight into the river. Fortunately, the driver sustained only minor injuries and was promptly rescued by emergency response teams.
Initial reports had suggested that the bus was carrying jawans, sparking concerns over potential casualties. However, Ganderbal Police later clarified that the bus was empty at the time of the accident.
Rescue operations are currently underway as the vehicle remains partially submerged in the river. Authorities have cited relentless rainfall as the primary cause of the mishap, which led to dangerously slick road conditions in the area.
Further updates are awaited.
