Bhubaneswar, Odisha : Tension gripped the Utkal University campus after a violent scuffle broke out between two groups on Tuesday evening, leaving one student seriously injured.
Rajkumar Parida, a student of Utkal University, sustained severe injuries to his chest, back, and other parts of his body during the altercation. He was initially rushed to Capital Hospital for emergency care and was later shifted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar for advanced treatment.
According to sources, the clash stemmed from a general dispute, but escalated quickly, resulting in chaos on campus.
In response to the incident, a wave of anger swept across the student community. On Wednesday morning, several students gathered outside the Vice Chancellor’s office to stage a protest, demanding stricter campus security and immediate action against those involved in the violence.
The students have also urged the university administration to impose a ban on the entry of outsiders into the campus to prevent such incidents in the future.
