Mumbai : Actress Alia Bhatt congratulated Karan Johar, Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter, and the entire team of Homebound on being selected as India’s official entry for the Oscars 2026.
Sharing on her Instagram stories, Alia wrote, “Congratulations to the entire team!! This is so special.. Fingers and toes crossed.”
Earlier, Karan Johar expressed that he feels deeply honoured and humbled as his film Homebound represents India at the Oscars 2026.
The producer stated, “We feel deeply honoured and humbled that Homebound represents India at the Academy Awards. Neeraj Ghaywan’s labour of love is sure to touch millions of hearts worldwide.”
Director Neeraj Ghaywan said, “I feel deeply honoured that Homebound has been chosen as India’s official entry to the Oscars. Rooted in our love for the land and its people, it carries the essence of the home we all share. Taking our stories to the world and representing India on one of the biggest global cinema stages fills me with pride and gratitude.”
Excited about her milestone, Janhvi Kapoor described the film as “nothing short of a dream.” She shared on Instagram, “Every part of this film has been nothing short of a dream. The journey, the people, what this story means, and how personal it has been for everyone in our team. At every step, I felt thankful I could witness this journey, which in itself felt like a reward.”
