Mumbai / New Delhi, June 17, 2025 – The Chopra family is mourning following the poignant loss of Advocate Raman Rai Handa, the father of actress Mannara Chopra and paternal uncle to global icon Priyanka Chopra Jonas. He passed away peacefully on June 16 at the age of 71–72 in Mumbai after battling age-related ailments.
Mannara, deeply affected, shared the news and funeral details via an Instagram statement:
“With profound grief and sorrow we inform the sad demise of our loving father who left us for his heavenly abode on 16/06/2025. He was the pillar of strength for our family.”
The cremation rites are scheduled for June 18 at 1 PM at the Amboli Crematorium Ground in Andheri West, Mumbai.
A distinguished lawyer at the Delhi High Court, Mr. Handa is survived by his wife Kamini, daughters Mannara and Mitali, and his extended Handa–Chopra family.
