Jharsuguda, Odisha: In many cases, disputes over police station jurisdiction often delay the filing of FIRs. A similar incident has recently surfaced in Jharsuguda district related to the Youth’s Document Forgery Case Jharsuguda.
When neither of the two concerned police stations registered his complaint, the victim approached Jharsuguda Superintendent of Police (SP) Gundala Reddy Raghavendra seeking justice. After reviewing the matter, the SP instructed the Sadar Police Station to register the case. Following this, an FIR was officially lodged.
According to reports, Sudip Ganguly, an auto driver from the Purna area of Jharsuguda, discovered a shocking case of identity misuse. He discovered this while checking his civil score on the 28th of last month before applying for a loan. Ganguly found that he had been listed as a guarantor for a bike loan at a private Finance. This was a loan he had never applied for.
After contacting the manager of that Finance Company, he learned that a youth named Shobharam from Uttar Pradesh had allegedly taken a bike loan from a local showroom. This was done using Ganguly’s documents to falsely show him as a guarantor.
Suspecting document forgery, Ganguly first approached Town Police Station and later Sadar Police Station. However, both declined to register the case citing jurisdictional issues. Left with no option, Ganguly submitted a written complaint to the SP.
Acting on his complaint, the Sadar Police registered a case against Bhavani Bhainsal, Manager of Shriram Finance. The case also involved its agent Dolly, and the loan applicant Shobharam. Sadar IIC Swapnarani Gochhayat confirmed that an investigation has been initiated. They are looking into the forgery and misuse of documents.
