Angul, Odisha : In a shocking and dramatic incident, a 25-year-old man walked into the District Headquarters Hospital in Angul on Saturday evening holding a live cobra in one hand and with a rag tied around his snake-bitten arm.
The youth, identified as Bubul Bhoi, son of Balabhadra Bhoi from the Kaliakata area under Nisha police station limits in Chendipada, had reportedly been bitten by a venomous cobra earlier in the afternoon. The four-foot-long snake had been found at the residence of one of his relatives.
According to sources, while attempting to capture the cobra, Bubul sustained a bite on his right hand. In a bold and rather dangerous move, he managed to catch the snake and even recorded a video before heading to a local health facility for treatment. Medical staff there, recognizing the seriousness of his condition, referred him to the district hospital for advanced care.
To everyone’s astonishment, Bubul arrived at the hospital carrying the very cobra that bit him. Panic and fear gripped the hospital staff and onlookers as they saw the live snake in his possession.
Upon learning of the incident, local snake rescuer Aditya Behera quickly reached the hospital and safely removed the snake from the premises. Bubul is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital and is said to be in a stable condition.
