New Delhi : Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, addressing a public gathering in Raisen, Madhya Pradesh, delivered a strong message on India’s zero-tolerance approach to terrorism, the nation’s rapid development, and strides in self-reliance in defence.
Singh asserted that India’s counter-terrorism measures are rooted in principles of justice, not prejudice. “Terrorists came here, asking people’s religion before killing them. We have decided — we will never kill anyone after asking their religion. We will judge them by their actions and punish accordingly,” he said.
To illustrate his point, Singh invoked a Ramayana reference. He recounted how, when Sita questioned Hanuman in Lanka about the havoc he had caused, Hanuman humbly replied, “I only killed those who had harmed our people.”
The Defence Minister also took aim at those displeased with India’s growth. “Some people — and some countries — are not happy with India’s rapid progress. They are trying to make Indian products expensive so the world doesn’t buy them. But India is advancing so fast that no power in the world can stop it from becoming a major force,” he declared.
