Talcher, Odisha: Vivekananda Vidyamandir in Talcher Town celebrated its 28th Annual Sports Meet with great enthusiasm and community spirit.


Deputy Collector Manas Mohan Seth inaugurated the event as Chief Guest. Santosh Kumar Sahu, President of the Talcher Bar Association, delivered the Chief Address, while senior journalists Dr. Rashmiranjan Mishra and Bijay Kumar Debata joined as Guests of Honour.

The guests highlighted that sports are essential along with education for the overall growth of students. They noted that games help students build discipline, teamwork, and confidence while improving their physical and mental fitness.

After lighting the sports torch and hoisting the sports flag, the guests led the students in taking the sports oath, encouraging them to uphold the values of fair play and perseverance.

Headmaster Prashant Chandra Singh Samant presided over the event, and Niranjan Kar, Secretary of the School Managing Committee, expressed gratitude to all attendees.

Students showcased their enthusiasm and sportsmanship by competing in various athletic events, reflecting the school’s ongoing commitment to holistic education that balances academics and sports.
