Sambalpur, Odisha : Odisha Vigilance today carried out simultaneous raids at seven different locations linked to Debashis Panda, the Principal Scientific Officer at the State Drug Control Department in Sambalpur.
Acting on a search warrant issued by the Special Vigilance Judge in Sambalpur, the vigilance teams launched coordinated searches across Sambalpur, Bhubaneswar, and Berhampur. The raids are being conducted under the leadership of four DSPs, ten Inspectors, four ASIs, and several other supporting staff.
The operation is part of an investigation into Panda’s suspected possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The seven locations under Vigilance scanner include:
- Flat No. 15, Block-5, Metro City, Behera Sahi, Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar
- Flat No. 11-D, Block-2, Metro City, Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar
- OY-634, Esplanade Area, Bhubaneswar
- Flat No. 105, Block-D, Prestige Apartment, Balabhadrapur, Bhubaneswar
- Duplex House No. DX-29, Greater Sambalpur, Bareipali (Rented House)
- Ancestral House at Navi Colony, Church Road, Berhampur
- State Drug Testing Laboratory Office, Sambalpur
Sources in the Vigilance Department confirm that incriminating documents and property records are being examined and inventories are being prepared. Further details are awaited as the raids are still ongoing.
