Bhubaneswar, Odisha : Former Minister and senior BJD leader Tukuni Sahu faces controversy after her alleged provocative remarks during the Ravana Podi festival in Titilagarh on 3rd October 2025 sparked political buzz. Local BJP workers filed a formal complaint against her at Titilagarh Police Station, accusing her of attempting to disturb the city’s peace and brotherhood.
According to the complaint, during her address at the Ravana Podi function, Tukuni Sahu allegedly delivered a provocative speech that affected the city’s peace and brotherhood in Titilagarh.
The remarks now spark widespread discussion across Titilagarh. A group of senior BJP functionaries and local leaders from Titilagarh visited the Titilagarh Police Station on Monday and submitted a written complaint against former minister Tukuni Sahu. They demanded that authorities launch a thorough investigation into her statements.
The complainants alleged that Sahu’s comments intentionally provoked tensions and politicized a religious event, which is inappropriate for a public leader.
The incident shook Titilagarh’s politics. Opposition leaders seized the opportunity to criticize the former minister Tukuni Sahu.
When contacted for her reaction, Tukuni Sahu acknowledged receiving media queries but declined to give an immediate comment. On the other hand, Sahu has not provided further clarification.
The controversy has become a major political flashpoint in Western Odisha’s politics.
