Bhubaneswar, Odisha : Terrazyme road construction eco-friendly durability is gaining attention in Odisha as a sustainable solution for long-lasting and environmentally friendly roads. Under the leadership of Minister Pruthviraj Harichandan, officials discussed how the innovative bio-enzymatic stabilizer Terrazyme can reduce construction costs, improve soil quality, and enhance road longevity while minimizing environmental impact. The meeting also explored applications in forested and biodiversity-rich areas, highlighting its potential for widespread adoption.
Terrazyme, a bio-enzymatic soil stabilizer derived from plant extracts, is non-toxic and eco-friendly. Its use enhances local soil quality, strengthens roads made from stone, gravel, cement, and pitch, and significantly reduces construction costs compared to conventional methods. The additive also mitigates extreme heat, dust, and erosion, making it suitable for forested and biodiversity-rich areas while remaining applicable in urban and semi-urban regions.
During the meeting, officials deliberated on the potential of Terrazyme to improve road longevity, reduce environmental impact, and provide cost-effective alternatives for infrastructure projects. The minister instructed the Works and OBCC officials to prepare a detailed report on Terrazyme-based road construction for submission to the government.
Key participants included Banpur Block Chairman Amarendra Ransingh, OBCC Advisor Jayakrishna Das, and Additional Chief Engineer Shridhar Raut, who contributed insights on technical feasibility and project implementation.
The meeting underscored the importance of integrating innovative, eco-friendly technologies like Terrazyme into Odisha’s infrastructure planning to ensure sustainable development while protecting local ecosystems.
