Hyderabad: In a tragic road mishap, at least 15 people were killed and several others injured. This occurred in a Telangana bus-truck collision near Mirzaguda in Rangareddy district early Monday morning. The accident occurred around 6:30 a.m. on the Hyderabad–Bijapur highway. An RTC bus from Tandur collided head-on with a concrete-laden truck coming from the opposite direction.
Eyewitnesses said the impact was so severe that the truck’s concrete load toppled onto the bus, trapping passengers beneath the debris. Heart-wrenching scenes unfolded as locals and police scrambled to rescue the injured. Three JCBs were deployed to clear the wreckage.
Among the dead were both drivers and 13 passengers of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) bus, which was carrying nearly 70 people. Several others were rushed to Chevella Government Hospital. Three remain in critical condition.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed deep grief over the loss of lives and directed officials to oversee relief operations. He also ensured medical care for the injured. Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar also ordered an immediate probe into the cause of the accident.
This Telangana bus-truck collision is the second major tragedy in the Telugu states within 10 days. It comes soon after the fatal Kurnool bus fire that claimed 20 lives.
