Talcher, Odisha: A crucial tripartite meeting was held at the Talcher Sub-Collector’s office under the chairmanship of Sub-Collector Sameer Kumar Jena. This Talcher Truck Owners Association meeting focused on the ongoing issues faced by the Talcher Truck Owners Association. The discussion aimed to address major concerns like freight regulation, tollgate problems, parking arrangements near coal mines, and coal quantity management.
During the meeting, members raised several key points. These included the need to enforce the Fast and Fast Serve system across all collieries. They also discussed regulating freight rates, and ensuring proper distribution of loading slips. Furthermore, they urged the authorities to maintain transparency by installing digital display boards in every colliery.
They also discussed the confusion caused when trucks register at two loading points on the same day. The Sub-Collector assured strict monitoring to stop such practices. Participants further demanded better parking facilities near coal mines and smoother coal loading processes.
The association members highlighted that coal quantity management required coordination with the Central Government. Therefore, the Sub-Collector decided to send a formal letter requesting central intervention.
During the meeting, coal mine officials, RTO authorities, and company heads took part in the discussions. Key participants included SDPO Bharat Chandra Sahu, Truck Owners Association President Dillip Pani, General Secretary Prakash Maharana, Executive President Niranjan Pradhan, Biranchi Sahu, Muralidhar Sahu, and Firoz Pradhan.
After the meeting, a delegation consisting of Dillip Pani, Niranjan Pradhan, and Firoz Pradhan, along with Anugul MLA Pratap Pradhan, decided to travel to Patna. They aimed to meet Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and seek immediate action on the coal quantity increase issue.
Finally, the Sub-Collector declared that every decision made in the meeting would be strictly enforced. He warned that any negligence or disobedience would result in legal action against those responsible.
