Talcher: On National Press Day, the Talcher Journalists Association free health camp successfully served local residents at the Panchayat Samiti auditorium. The initiative aimed to provide thorough medical check-ups. It also aimed to distribute essential medicines and raise awareness about health and wellness among the community.
Talcher Sub-Collector Sameer Kumar Jena (IAS) inaugurated the camp along with BDO Sushant Kumar Baral, Dr. Arbind Nandi, and Dr. Ashok Behera. Specialist in Ortho Dr. Binay Kumar Padhi also participated. This event marked the first time a journalist organization in Talcher organized such a large-scale health initiative. It sets an example for other districts in Odisha.
Over 143 older people, women, and patients suffering from various ailments attended the camp. They received free medicines and consultations from experienced doctors. Skilled technicians examined vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, blood sugar levels, weight, and body temperature. This ensured comprehensive health assessments.
Association officials, including President Madan Mohan Sahu, General Secretary Saubhagya Chandra Nayak, Advisor Dhirmohan Roy, Ajay Kumar Nayak, Debasish Parida, Soumitra Senapati, Manil Maharana, Vikash Sahu, Shishir Kumar Samal, and others cooperated in this program. Meanwhile, Basudev Pradhan and Rabindra Maharana handled the registration of patients. Social workers Quando sahuer G. chandra Sahuo, Gaurav Roy, Manas Ranjan Sahu, Asit Kumar Sahu, Karunakar Bai, Asutosh Das also cooperated in the management of the camp.
The Talcher Journalists Association free health camp successfully combined medical support with community engagement.
