Talcher: Acting on a tip-off from a reliable source, the Talcher Colliery Police raided the Ghantapada High School playground late last night and caught seven people gambling in a notable Talcher gambling raid. Officers immediately detained the accused and took them to the police station for further legal action.
Following the IIC’s instructions, SI Bipul Nayak led a special team that swiftly reached the spot and apprehended the gamblers. This Talcher gambling raid led to the arrest of individuals including Silu Sahu (30), Pattayat Sahu (48), Shrimat Sahu (43), Sarat Biswal, Sahadev Sahu (45), Abhay Sahu (40), and Narayan Patnaik (29).
Police recovered ₹43,490 in cash, 104 playing cards, one recharge ball, one jaripal, 11 mobile phones, and three motorcycles from their possession. This operation became a prime example of a well-executed Talcher gambling raid. After completing the paperwork, officers produced the accused in court.
Local residents praised the prompt action and said such operations help reduce gambling in the area. The Talcher Police have vowed to continue strict monitoring and warned that they will take firm action against anyone involved in illegal gaming.
