Bhubaneswar, Odisha : The latest Sundarpada Jatani road update reveals that Odisha’s Minister for Law, Public Works, and Ex-Officio Departments, Prithwiraj Harichandan, personally inspected the 13.5 km stretch. The Minister emphasized that the road will be upgraded to a four-lane highway and directed officials to complete all construction activities by November 2025.
Minister Harichandan met with departmental officers, contractors, and local residents to discuss strategies for accelerating construction while addressing key challenges, including drainage, sewerage, electrification, and utility installations. He instructed officials to ensure that all pending works are completed promptly to benefit public convenience and regional connectivity.
The Minister emphasized the importance of robust infrastructure and well-planned transportation networks as part of Odisha’s broader vision for rapid development toward 2036.
During the review, senior officials including Bhubaneswar MLA Babu Singh, former Minister Suresh Kumar Rautaray, Chief Engineer Road-II Dhyanachand Nayak, Chief Construction Engineer Manoj Mahanand, and Executive Engineer Sachin Sahu were present along with key line department authorities and contractors.
Minister Harichandan stressed that all necessary measures must be taken to ensure the road is fully functional by the target date, enabling smoother traffic flow and improved regional connectivity.
The project forms a crucial link in Odisha’s transport infrastructure and will significantly enhance mobility for commuters and commercial transport along the Sundarpada-Jatani corridor.
