Bhubaneswar, Odisha : Under the chairpersonship of Deputy Chief Minister Smt. Prabhati Parida, a review meeting was held today at the Women and Child Development Conference Hall to examine the reasons for beneficiaries excluded from the Subhadra scheme.
Senior officials from various departments attended, including Principal Secretary of the Women & Child Development Department Smt. Shubha Sharma, Director Monisha Banerjee, officers from Commerce & Transport, Food Supply & Welfare, Health & Family Welfare, Higher Education, and Scheduled Tribes & Scheduled Castes Development, as well as key officials from the Subhadra team.
The Health & Family Welfare Department was tasked with verifying the list of 15,984 beneficiaries excluded due to death, ensuring that records are accurate. Officials noted that once the verification report is finalized, deceased beneficiaries will be formally removed from the Subhadra database. Similarly, the list of beneficiaries with vehicle-related entitlements was sent to the Commerce & Transport Department for review. Land-related beneficiaries will undergo field verification to ensure accuracy.
The meeting also emphasized that eligible women previously excluded due to age or verification issues will be added back to the Subhadra scheme after thorough rechecking. Deputy CM Smt. Parida instructed that the Subhadra grievance redressal module be made fully operational as soon as possible to resolve pending complaints efficiently.
The session underscored the government’s commitment to ensuring fairness, transparency, and proper inclusion of all eligible beneficiaries under the Subhadra scheme, enhancing accountability across departments.
