Koraput/Jaypore : Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will today disburse the third installment of the state’s flagship ‘Subhadra’ financial assistance scheme from Jaypore in Koraput district.
Over 15,000 beneficiaries will receive their assistance directly from the CM during the ceremonial programme. Following the event, ₹5,000 each will be credited to the bank accounts of nearly 1 crore women beneficiaries across the state.
The government has clarified that those who missed payments in the first two installments will also be included, with a fresh survey to identify and add over 2 lakh left-out beneficiaries. Additionally, 93,000 women aged above 60 have been referred to the SSEPD department to receive pension benefits.
Since its launch, the Subhadra scheme has reached an impressive scale — 1,65,877 women received the first installment on September 17 last year, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, and 98,82,092 women benefited from the second installment on International Women’s Day this year.
The state government has decided to make these disbursements twice a year — on Rakhi Purnima and International Women’s Day — marking a symbolic celebration of women’s empowerment in Odisha.
