Star Air Adds E175LR VT-GSM, Expands Odisha & Gujarat Routes

Bengaluru : Star Air, the aviation arm of the Sanjay Ghodawat Group and India’s largest regional carrier by daily departures, proudly announces the induction of its latest aircraft – the Embraer E175LR, registered VT-GSM – into its growing fleet. This new addition takes Star Air’s fleet strength to 11 Embraer aircraft.

With the induction of VT-GSM, Star Air will expand its daily schedule to 300 flights per week starting August 16, 2025, with new flights between Jharsuguda and Bhubaneshwar, and further increase it to 350 flights per week from August 23, 2025, reintroducing flights between Ahmedabad, Surat, Bhuj and Jamnagar, driven by two major network expansions.

Odisha Expansion – New Jharsuguda–Bhubaneswar Service (From August 16, 2025)

Star Air will connect Jharsuguda and Bhubaneswar with direct daily flights, marking an important step in improving regional connectivity within Odisha. This service will offer a faster and more convenient alternative to lengthy road and rail journeys.

Gujarat Relaunch – Surat, Bhuj and Jamnagar (From August 23, 2025)

Star Air is resuming its network in Gujarat with direct connections linking Ahmedabad, Jamnagar, Surat, and Bhuj. These routes will strengthen intra-state travel, support trade and industry hubs, and reconnect communities.

Commenting on the milestone, Ms. Shilpa Bhatia, Chief Commercial Officer of Star Air, said:

Star Air connects 26 stations across different markets in India with Aircraft based at Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Belgaum

The new Embraer E175LR offers Star Air passengers 2×2 seating, spacious interiors, quiet cabin and fuel-efficient performance, ensuring a comfortable and sustainable travel experience.
