Bhubaneswar, Odisha : A delegation of 30 Sri Lankan officials arrived in Odisha today for a five-day training program, organized with support from the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, and coordinated by the Information & Public Relations Department of Odisha.
During their visit, the Sri Lankan officials will meet the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, and participate in various training sessions on disaster management, public communication, and media strategies before, during, and after emergencies.
The delegation will also visit important cultural, historical, and educational sites across Odisha, including the White Pagoda at Dhauli, Black Pagoda at Konark, Chilika Lake, and Kalinga Stadium, where they will learn about effective public media strategies used during international events like the Hockey World Cup.
Officials will explore Odisha’s rich art, heritage, and living culture, experiencing the state’s unique architectural marvels and traditions. They will also witness the charm and cultural identity of Odisha through local performances and museum visits.
Today, the delegation visited KIIT University, where they were welcomed by senior officials of the Information & Public Relations Department, including Director Anuj Das Patnaik, Director (Foreign Affairs) Gurvir Singh, Additional Secretary Vishnupriya Sahu, and Deputy Director Sucheta Priyadarshini.
This visit by the Sri Lankan officials to Odisha aims to strengthen cultural and educational ties, provide hands-on training, and promote mutual understanding between the two neighboring countries.
