Bhubaneswar, Odisha : A delegation of officials from Sri Lanka, currently on a visit to Odisha, toured the Kalinga Stadium and the Odisha State Museum today.
At Kalinga Stadium, the team explored the Sports Science Centre, Athletics Stadium, Hockey Stadium, and several High-Performance Centres for disciplines such as weightlifting, swimming, badminton, shooting, and gymnastics. The Sri Lankan officials lauded Odisha’s modern sports infrastructure and expressed appreciation for the successful hosting of multiple international tournaments.
Later, the delegation visited the Odisha State Museum, where they explored the Pre-Historic Gallery, Royal and Ivory Gallery, Zoological Gallery, Geology and Mining Gallery, Palm-leaf Manuscript Gallery, Mask Gallery, Tribal Gallery, and Handicrafts Gallery. The officials showed keen interest in Odisha’s rich history, culture, traditions, and unique heritage.
On the occasion, a documentary highlighting Odisha’s Paika Rebellion and freedom struggle was screened for the guests.
Officials from the Information and Public Relations Department, the Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department, and the Sports and Youth Services Department participated in the program, providing insights into Odisha’s cultural identity and sporting achievements.
