Bhubaneswar, Odisha : On the final day of their Odisha tour, Sri Lankan officials visited Chilika Lake, experiencing the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the region. In the evening, they were honoured at a dinner organized by the Information & Public Relations Department (IPPR).
During the event, IPPR Director Mr. Anuj Das Pattnayak and Director (Foreign Affairs) Mr. Gurvir Singh felicitated the visiting Sri Lankan delegation, presenting them with Pattachitra artworks, showcasing Odisha’s rich traditional craftsmanship.
The Sri Lankan officials expressed deep appreciation for the warm hospitality, local cuisine, art, culture, and heritage of Odisha. They also acknowledged gaining valuable insights into Indian culture, daily life of local people, and disaster management practices during their visit.
The delegation conveyed gratitude to the Government of India’s Ministry of External Affairs and the Odisha Government, particularly the IPPR Department, for their cooperation and support throughout the tour. In turn, the Sri Lankan officials also honoured the IPPR directors for their contributions to a successful visit.
This visit highlights strengthening cultural and diplomatic ties between India and Sri Lanka, while also promoting Odisha as a key destination for cultural tourism.
