Cuttack, Odisha : In a major crackdown on corruption, Sri Kishore Kumar Sahani, Senior Assistant at City Hospital, office of CDMO, Cuttack, was arrested today, 23rd August 2025, by Odisha Vigilance for possessing disproportionate assets (DA) totaling 201% of his known sources of income. The arrest was followed by his production before the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack.
The Cuttack Vigilance Police registered PS Case No.25 dated 23.08.2025 under sections 13(2) read with 13(1)(b)/12 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018, against Sri Kishore Kumar Sahani and his spouse for failing to satisfactorily account for his assets.
- During comprehensive searches of his properties, authorities unearthed immovable and movable assets worth crores, including:
- A triple-storeyed building of 2500 sq. ft. at Jobra Nuasahi, Cuttack.
- A building and poultry farm spanning approximately 2.5 acres at Palasia/Padhania, Choudwar, Cuttack.
- 19 high-value plots, with 18 in and around Cuttack town and 1 in Jatni, Khordha.
- Cash amounting to Rs.3,30,800/- and gold ornaments weighing 135 gms.
- Bank and postal deposits worth over Rs.55.48 lakhs.
- Vehicles including a Hyundai Santro and three two-wheelers.
- Household articles worth around Rs.11 lakhs.
After evaluating his income, expenditure, and assets, it was confirmed that his possessions were 201% higher than his declared income, confirming the case of disproportionate assets. The ongoing investigation aims to trace any further hidden assets and financial irregularities.
The arrest of Sri Kishore Kumar Sahani marks a significant step by Odisha Vigilance to curb corruption within government offices. Officials emphasized that strict action will continue against public servants found guilty of accumulating wealth disproportionate to their known sources of income.
This high-profile DA case in Cuttack has raised awareness among citizens about vigilance and accountability in public offices. Investigation is still underway, and further updates are expected in the coming weeks.
