Jaipur : Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will visit Jaipur on September 27 as part of the BJP’s nationwide ‘Next Gen GST’ campaign.

During her visit, Sitharaman will engage directly with professionals, including chartered accountants, company secretaries, and doctors, to explain the benefits of the revised GST slabs. The government claims these changes will reduce inflation and boost economic growth.

Party officials confirmed to IANS that although they have not released the detailed schedule, Sitharaman’s Jaipur visit on September 27 remains confirmed.

The Central Government implemented the revised GST slabs nationwide starting Monday. Officials say this move will increase purchasing power and accelerate the growth rate.

To raise awareness, the BJP launched the ‘Next Gen GST’ reforms campaign across the country. As part of this initiative, Sitharaman will personally meet professionals in Jaipur to highlight how the new GST structure benefits businesses and consumers.

The government aims to promote the revised GST widely so the public can benefit, while the BJP positions the reforms as a key electoral message.

At the state level, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma inaugurated the ‘GST Bachat Utsav’ on Monday, celebrating it across Rajasthan. In Jaipur, he visited Thadi Market in Mansarovar, interacting with traders and urging them to pass the benefits of reduced GST rates to consumers. He noted that this move will boost market demand and help both businesses and the public.

During his visit, the CM placed ‘GST Bachat Utsav’ stickers on shops and showrooms and encouraged citizens to choose ‘Swadeshi’ (domestic) products. Urban Development and Housing Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra accompanied him and also urged people to prefer indigenous goods.

Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha MP Ghanshyam Tiwari led a march in Sanganer market from the city bus stand to Malpura Gate. Traders and residents welcomed him with drums and trumpets. Tiwari said Prime Minister Modi’s GST reforms aim to strengthen public welfare and are being celebrated nationwide as a festival.

He joined Jaipur Mayor Somya Gurjar, Bagru MLA Kailash Verma, Sanganer Trade Union leaders, and local residents. On Sunday, the Chief Minister also held a video conference with ministers and MLAs, instructing them to promote the ‘GST Bachat Utsav’ in their constituencies and visit local markets to educate traders and consumers about the GST cuts.
