New Delhi : Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan today inaugurated the Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam (ABSS) 2025 in New Delhi, commemorating the 5th anniversary of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The mega education conclave saw the launch of education projects worth over ₹4,000 crore, including new initiatives, campus inaugurations, and foundation stone-laying ceremonies.

The Samagam brought together academicians, policymakers, industry leaders, and government officials from across the country to review NEP implementation and shape the roadmap towards “Viksit Bharat 2047”. Key dignitaries included MoS for Education Shri Jayant Chaudhary, MoS Dr. Sukanta Majumdar, Education Ministers from 13 states/UTs, and top officials from the Ministry of Education and allied institutions.
The event opened with a tribute to Padma Vibhushan Dr. K. Kasturirangan, Chairman of the NEP 2020 Drafting Committee, followed by a cultural presentation by Kendriya Vidyalaya students. A special message from the Hon’ble Prime Minister on the NEP anniversary was read by Shri Jayant Chaudhary.
In his keynote address, Shri Pradhan said NEP 2020 has moved “from policy to practice” over the past five years, transforming education at all levels. He emphasized NEP’s focus on Indian knowledge systems, innovation, research, and regional languages, describing the policy as the foundation for realising the dream of a developed India.
“NEP 2020 is not just a reform — it’s a national mission,” Pradhan said, urging all stakeholders to commit to creating classrooms that inspire creativity and empower every learner.
The event also featured thematic sessions on core NEP areas and a multimedia exhibition showcasing best practices from across India.
Among the major launches were new digital and infrastructural initiatives under the Departments of School Education & Literacy (DoSEL) and Higher Education (DoHE), aimed at further accelerating India’s educational transformation.
