Bhavnagar : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the ‘Samudra se Samriddhi’ programme in Gujarat’s Bhavnagar on Saturday. He said the development projects he will inaugurate during the event will benefit people across India, calling it a landmark day for the maritime sector.
PM Modi will launch transformative projects worth more than ₹34,200 crore at Jawahar Maidan in Bhavnagar. He will inaugurate new facilities and lay foundation stones across multiple sectors.
On X, PM Modi wrote: “20th September marks an important day for India’s maritime sector and our journey towards self-reliance. At 10:30 A.M., I will join the ‘Samudra se Samriddhi’ programme in Bhavnagar. I will inaugurate projects and lay foundation stones worth over ₹34,200 crore. These works will benefit people across India. Key policies for the shipping sector will also be in focus.”
The event highlights the maritime sector, where PM Modi will announce projects worth over ₹7,870 crore to modernize ports and boost trade.
He will inaugurate the Mumbai International Cruise Terminal at Indira Dock and lay the foundation stone for a new container terminal at Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port in Kolkata.
He will also launch new cargo berths and container handling facilities at Paradip Port (Odisha), the Tuna Tekra Multi-Cargo Terminal in Gujarat, and modernisation works at Kamarajar Port (Ennore, Tamil Nadu) and Chennai Port. Developments at Car Nicobar Island, Deendayal Port (Kandla), and inland waterways at Patna and Varanasi will also move forward.
In Gujarat, PM Modi will unveil projects worth ₹26,354 crore in renewable energy, port infrastructure, roadways, healthcare, and urban transport.
Key initiatives include the HPLNG Regasification Terminal at Chhara Port, the Acrylics and Oxo Alcohol Project at the Gujarat IOCL Refinery, the 600 MW Green Shoe Initiative, and the 475 MW PM-KUSUM solar feeder for farmers.
He will also inaugurate the Badeli 45 MW Solar PV Project and the complete solarisation of Dhordo village.
In healthcare and urban development, he will lay foundation stones for expansions at Sir T. General Hospital in Bhavnagar and Guru Govind Singh Government Hospital in Jamnagar.
PM Modi will also launch the four-laning of 70 km of national highways, improving trade routes and regional connectivity.
The government will sign several MoUs with private partners to strengthen public-private cooperation and accelerate development.
Later, PM Modi will conduct an aerial survey of the Dholera Special Investment Region, planned as a greenfield industrial city with sustainable industries, smart infrastructure, and global investments.
