Bhubaneswar : Odisha is likely to experience a reduction in rainfall and a rise in temperature over the next three days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The weather forecast indicates that the monsoon impact will weaken temporarily, with daytime temperatures expected to rise by nearly 2°C.
In the past 24 hours, the state recorded light to moderate rainfall, with Himagiri in Sundargarh district receiving the highest rainfall at 34 mm. Overall, Odisha has recorded 616.1 mm of rainfall so far—approximately 10% above the normal seasonal average.
While there is no forecast of any major rainfall activity in the coming days, isolated places in interior and coastal Odisha may witness light showers accompanied by thunder and lightning. Wind speeds may also reach 30 to 40 km/h in some regions.
The IMD further predicted a continued decrease in rainfall on July 4 and 5. However, light rainfall is likely to return in isolated areas from July 6 onwards.
