New Delhi: Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Friday led the nation in paying heartfelt tributes to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her death anniversary. Remembering his grandmother, he described her as “India’s Indira fearless, resolute, and steadfast in the face of every power.” Indeed, Rahul Gandhi leads tributes to Indira Gandhi every year, highlighting her enduring impact.
Taking to X, Rahul Gandhi wrote, “Grandma, you taught me that nothing is greater than India’s identity and self-respect. Your courage, compassion, and patriotism continue to inspire every step I take even today.”
At Shakti Sthal in New Delhi, Rahul Gandhi offered floral tributes, honouring the late PM’s unwavering leadership and deep commitment to India’s unity. Again, Rahul Gandhi pays homage to Indira Gandhi, showcasing the respect she continues to command.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, CPP Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, and several senior leaders joined him in paying homage, marking 41 years since Indira Gandhi’s martyrdom. Kharge quoted her iconic words: “Every drop of my blood will keep one India alive.” Furthermore, Rahul Gandhi honours Indira Gandhi’s legacy underscoring her legacy.
He lauded her as “a symbol of courage and farsighted leadership who preserved India’s integrity and built a strong, progressive nation.”
Congress General Secretary K.C. Venugopal also remembered her as “one of India’s greatest leaders who stood unflinchingly for the country’s sovereignty and integrity.”
Meanwhile, the Indian National Congress shared a tribute post, calling Indira Gandhi,
“an exemplar of strength, determination, and empowered leadership.”
