New Delhi : Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, has levelled serious allegations against the Election Commission of India (ECI), accusing it of direct involvement in large-scale electoral fraud favoring the ruling Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).
Addressing the media on Friday, Gandhi claimed that “vote theft has been rampant in India since 2014,” and alleged that the ECI has been a willing accomplice in the process. “We have solid evidence proving the Election Commission’s complicity in voter fraud,” he stated.
Key Allegations:
- Vote Manipulation Since 2014:
Gandhi asserted that vote theft is not a new phenomenon, but a systematic practice ongoing since the BJP came to power. - One Crore New Voters Added Secretly in Maharashtra:
Referring to the Maharashtra Assembly elections, he said that over one crore new voters were mysteriously added to the rolls six months ahead of polls—raising red flags and prompting internal investigations by the Congress. - Election Commission’s Stonewalling:
Despite raising objections and filing formal requests, Gandhi said the EC refused to provide voter list data, and even amended video surveillance laws to allegedly obstruct transparency. - Warning to ECI Officials:
Rahul Gandhi issued a stern warning, saying that “anyone involved—from junior staff to top officials, serving or retired—will be exposed and held accountable.”
“This is not just electoral malpractice—it’s a betrayal of democracy,” he said. - Evidence to Be Made Public Soon:
Gandhi claimed that the Congress has uncovered explosive evidence, comparing it to an “atomic bomb” that, once made public, will shake the foundation of the Election Commission.
“Very soon, the entire country will know how their votes were stolen,” he added.
Targeted States Highlighted:
- Madhya Pradesh – Initial doubts during Assembly polls.
