Specifically, farmers will grow 15.13 lakh hectares of pulses, 3.70 lakh hectares of oilseeds, 4.97 lakh hectares of vegetables, 1.15 lakh hectares of condiments, and 0.21 lakh hectares of sugarcane. The production targets are 23.26 lakh MT of food grains, 8.20 lakh MT of pulses, and 4.21 lakh MT of oilseeds.
In his keynote address, Dy CM Shri Singh Deo said,
“To reach our goal, the government must stay active and work together to supply inputs on time. They should coordinate across departments and monitor fields closely. We can use unused farms for storage. Strong leadership and careful planning will make sure farmers get the benefits.” Furthermore, he added that regular checks at the field level are important.
DC-cum-ACS Smt. Anu Garg said,
“Our reservoirs have enough water now. We aim to provide irrigation to 90% of farm land. Farmers must use water carefully.”
Principal Secretary Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee said,
“The Rabi Programme 2025-26 aims to grow more pulses and oilseeds. This will help Odisha produce enough on its own. We also signed an MoU with ICARDA to develop new crop varieties.” Alongside this, officials will help farmers use modern farming methods and climate-smart practices.
The campaign emphasizes flagship programmes such as PMDDKY, National Pulse Mission, NFSM, National Horticulture Mission, Jackfruit Mission, and PMKSY, along with state initiatives like Shree Anna Abhiyan, Rice Fallow Management, Balabhadra Jaivik Chasa Mission, and Farm Mechanization. Soil conservation, watershed development, and modern horticulture practices will strengthen climate-resilient agriculture across Odisha.
Therefore, with government support, community help, and simple modern farming methods, the Rabi Campaign 2025-26 will give farmers a strong, safe, and productive season.
