Bhubaneswar, Odisha : Today, Shri Ravi Mehra, Executive Director of Punjab & Sind Bank, paid a courtesy call on Shri Manoj Ahuja, Chief Secretary of Odisha. During the meeting, Shri Mehra apprised the Chief Secretary about the Bank’s proposed expansion plans in Odisha which are aimed at strengthening its presence and enhancing financial services across the State.
The ED informed the Chief Secretary that presently the bank has 30 operational branches in Odisha and plans to open 20 more branches and setting up of a zonal office during the Financial Year 2025–26. He further stated that the Bank’s Board has also approved the establishment of a Zonal Office in Bhubaneswar, which will strengthen its operations and outreach in the State.
During the discussions, Shri Mehra highlighted that Punjab & Sind Bank has been actively extending banking support for the implementation of various government schemes in Odisha, particularly in the sectors of agriculture, MSMEs, food processing, and the promotion of self-help groups (SHGs). He assured that this support will be further strengthened in the coming years. Shri Mehra also reiterated the Bank’s commitment to the vision of “Viksit Odisha 2036” and “Viksit Bharat 2047,” affirming that the Bank will actively participate in the State’s mission to achieve these developmental goals.
The Chief Secretary assured that the State Government would extend all necessary support for opening of new branches and Zonal Office of Punjab & Sind Bank in Odisha.
During the meeting, Shri Vinay Khandelwal, Zonal Manager, Vijaywada Zone of Punjab & Sind Bank, was also present.
