Mumbai : Global star Priyanka Chopra Jonas has congratulated Hollywood actress Lily James on the premiere of Swiped and expressed her excitement for the film. Sharing the trailer on her Instagram stories, Priyanka wrote: “Congratulations @lilyjamesofficial! So looking forward to this incredible story. @hulu.”
Swiped premiered in the Gala Presentations section of the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival. Lily James, in collaboration with Gala Gordon, shared the trailer with the caption: “Inspired by the billion dollar story… world premiere of SWIPED tonight. It’s time to disrupt the industry. Swiped is streaming September 19 on Hulu and with #HuluOnDisneyPlus!”
The biographical drama, written and directed by Rachel Lee Goldenberg, is based on the life of Whitney Wolfe Herd, founder and CEO of Bumble. Lily James portrays Herd, while Dan Stevens, Myha’la, and Jackson White play key roles. The film narrates how Herd broke into the male-dominated tech industry by launching two innovative dating apps, ultimately becoming the world’s youngest self-made female billionaire.
On the Indian cinema front, Priyanka will share the screen with Mahesh Babu for the first time in her upcoming film tentatively titled SSMB29, an action-adventure inspired by history and mythology, expected to release in 2027.
Priyanka has also joined the latest installment of the popular superhero franchise Krrish 4, marking Hrithik Roshan’s directorial debut.
Additionally, she will play a 19th-century Caribbean pirate in the upcoming swashbuckler action drama The Bluff. Directed by Frank E. Flowers, the film also stars Karl Urban, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Safia Oakley-Green, and Vedanten Naidoo. In The Bluff, Priyanka’s character is tasked with protecting her family while confronting her mysterious past.
With these diverse projects lined up, Priyanka continues to strengthen her global and Indian cinematic presence, showcasing her versatility across genres.
