Bhubaneswar , Odisha : Political storm Nayagarh clash has turned the district into a political flashpoint after a violent dispute between leaders of the ruling BJD and opposition BJP over an alleged attack on BJP Mandal President Vishnu Prasad Sahu in Itamati village. The political landscape of Nayagarh district has come into the limelight following a dramatic confrontation between two influential figures, Irani Ray and Pratyusha Rajeshwari Singh. The war of words has escalated sharply between Pratyusha and Irani. Pratyusha Rajeshwari Singh, popularly known as the “Queen (Rani) of Nayagarh,” recently joined the BJP, adding further intensity to the ongoing political storm.
The incident has now escalated into a full-blown political controversy with leaders from both parties openly confronting each other. BJP leader Pratyusha Rajeshwari Singh strongly condemned the attack and held the BJD responsible for what she termed as “goondaism”. In response, BJD leader Irani Ray hit back with a sharp warning to Pratyusha Rajeshwari Singh. and alleged that the police working under BJP’s pressure, alleging that officers carried out one-sided actions and even entered her house unlawfully. The heated exchanges between the two women leaders have triggered intense debates in Nayagarh’s politics.
Notable, according to reports, the incident occurred a few days ago during a meeting organized in connection with Durga Puja preparations in Itamati. During the gathering, BJP’s Mandal President Vishnu Prasad Sahu was allegedly attacked by a group of unidentified persons, leaving him injured.
