New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to release the 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme today. Under this installment, eligible farmers will receive ₹2,000 directly into their bank accounts, bringing smiles to over 10 crore farmers across the country.
The Central Government will disburse a total of ₹20,500 crore as part of this phase of the flagship scheme, aimed at supporting small and marginal farmers.
Launched in February 2019, the PM-KISAN scheme provides annual financial assistance of ₹6,000 to eligible farmers, distributed in three equal installments of ₹2,000 every four months.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, today’s disbursement marks the 20th installment since the scheme’s inception. Funds will be transferred through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to ensure transparency and timely assistance.
PM Modi had last released the 19th installment on February 24, 2025, during his visit to Bihar.
The initiative continues to be a key pillar of the government’s strategy to empower farmers and strengthen the rural economy.
