Bhavnagar: PM Modi Bhavnagar received a massive welcome during a roadshow in Gujarat on Saturday. Thousands of people lined the streets, waved the Tricolour, and showered flowers, chanting ‘Modi Modi’ and ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai.’

Citizens lined both sides of the road as the Prime Minister waved. People showered him with flowers amid chants of ‘Modi Modi’ and ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai.’ Many held the Tricolour in their hands.

Students performed dances themed ‘Operation Sindoor’ to show gratitude to the Prime Minister. Traditional dance groups also performed during the roadshow.

The Prime Minister will launch several transformative development projects across sectors at a high-profile event at Jawahar Maidan.

He will participate in the ‘Samudra se Samriddhi’ programme. He will inaugurate or lay foundation stones for projects worth over Rs 34,200 crore.

Ahead of the programme, PM Modi said the projects will benefit people nationwide. He called the day important for the maritime sector.

In a post on X, PM Modi stated, “Today, 20th September, is an important day for India’s maritime sector and our quest for self-reliance. At 10:30 A.M., I will take part in the ‘Samudra se Samriddhi’ programme.”

He added, “Works worth over Rs 34,200 crore will be inaugurated or their foundation stones laid. These will benefit people across India. Key shipping policies will also be our focus.”

The maritime sector is a major focus. PM Modi will inaugurate projects worth Rs 7,870 crore. These projects upgrade critical infrastructure at key ports.

He will inaugurate the Mumbai International Cruise Terminal at Indira Dock. He will also lay the foundation stone for a new container terminal at Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port in Kolkata.

Other developments include a new cargo berth and container handling facilities at Paradip Port (Odisha) and the Tuna Tekra Multi-Cargo Terminal in Gujarat. Modernisation projects will also take place at Kamarajar Port (Ennore), Chennai Port, Car Nicobar Island, Deendayal Port (Kandla), and inland waterways at Patna and Varanasi.

In Gujarat, PM Modi will unveil projects worth Rs 26,354 crore. They will focus on renewable energy, port infrastructure, roadways, healthcare, and urban transport.

Key initiatives include the HPLNG Regasification Terminal at Chhara Port, the Acrylics and Oxo Alcohol Project at Gujarat IOCL Refinery, the 600 MW Green Shoe Initiative, and the 475 MW PM-KUSUM solar feeder for farmers.

He will inaugurate the Badeli 45 MW Solar PV Project and complete the solarisation of Dhordo village.

In healthcare and urban development, he will lay foundation stones for expansions at Sir T. General Hospital in Bhavnagar and Guru Govind Singh Government Hospital in Jamnagar.

PM Modi will launch the four-laning of 70 km of national highways. This will improve connectivity and trade routes.

Government bodies and private players will sign several MoUs. They will strengthen public-private partnerships and accelerate regional development.

Finally, the Prime Minister will conduct an aerial survey of the Dholera Special Investment Region. The city will feature sustainable industrialisation, smart infrastructure, and global investment.
