New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Combined Commanders’ Conference (CCC) 2025 in Kolkata on September 15, where discussions will centre on reforms, deeper integration, and technological modernisation of the Armed Forces. The three-day event, scheduled from September 15 to 17, is the apex-level brainstorming forum of India’s defence leadership.
According to an official statement from the Defence Ministry, the theme for this year’s conference is “Year of Reforms – Transforming for the Future.” The deliberations will focus on Reforms, Transformation, Change, and Operational Preparedness to ensure that the Armed Forces remain agile, decisive, and ready for the challenges of an evolving geo-strategic environment.
The CCC brings together the nation’s top civil and military leadership to exchange views at the conceptual and strategic levels. Apart from PM Modi, attendees will include Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Defence Secretary, and senior officers from the three Services and the Integrated Defence Staff. Secretaries from other key ministries are also likely to join.
In keeping with the tradition of inclusive engagement, the conference will also feature interactive sessions with officers and personnel across ranks, ensuring that field-level experiences and insights contribute to strategic-level decision-making.
The Defence Ministry underlined that this year’s conference reflects the Armed Forces’ continued commitment to institutional reforms, multi-domain operational readiness, and adoption of advanced indigenous technologies.
Recently, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh lauded the Armed Forces for the successful Operation Sindoor, crediting it as not only a story of military valour but also of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and the innovation of Indian scientists and youth. He emphasised that the forces have swiftly adopted indigenously developed equipment, strengthening India’s defence ecosystem.
As PM Modi prepares to address the Armed Forces in Kolkata, the focus will be on ensuring that India’s military remains future-ready through modernisation, self-reliance, and integrated command structures. The outcome of these deliberations is expected to provide strategic direction to India’s defence preparedness in the coming decade.
