Amaravati : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate, lay the foundation stone, and dedicate multiple development projects worth around Rs 13,430 crore in Andhra Pradesh on Thursday. These initiatives, part of the PM Modi Andhra Pradesh projects, aim to boost infrastructure, industry, and public welfare.
At Kurnool, he will launch projects in industry, power transmission, roads, railways, defence manufacturing, and petroleum and natural gas. Additionally, he will address a public meeting organized by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, themed ‘Super GST-Super Saving’, to promote awareness of the latest GST reforms.
The programme highlights the efforts of both Union and state governments to improve financial prudence and efficiency. Moreover, the Prime Minister will perform Pooja and Darshan at Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam in Srisailam and visit Sree Shivaji Spoorthi Kendra.
Later, he will lay the foundation stone for the Transmission System Strengthening at Kurnool-III Pooling Station, a Rs 2,880 crore project featuring a 765 KV double-circuit transmission line to enhance renewable energy capacity by 6,000 MVA. Furthermore, he will lay foundation stones for the Orvakal Industrial Area in Kurnool and the Kopparthy Industrial Area in Kadapa, with investments exceeding Rs 4,920 crore. These hubs will attract Rs 21,000 crore and create around one lakh jobs.
In addition, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the six-lane Greenfield Highway from Sabbavaram to Sheelanagar at over Rs 960 crore to ease traffic in Visakhapatnam. He will also inaugurate six road projects worth Rs 1,140 crore to improve safety and connectivity.
In the railway sector, he will lay foundation stones and dedicate projects worth over Rs 1,200 crore, including the Kottavalasa-Vizianagaram Fourth Railway Line, the Pendurti-Simhachalam North Flyover, and the doubling of Kottavalasa-Boddavara and Shimiliguda-Gorapur sections.
Moreover, in the energy sector, PM Modi will dedicate the Srikakulam–Angul Natural Gas Pipeline built by GAIL India Limited, spanning 422 km at Rs 1,730 crore, and inaugurate Indian Oil’s 60 TMTPA LPG plant at Chittoor, serving over 7.2 lakh customers across three states.
Finally, to strengthen defence manufacturing, he will dedicate the Advanced Night Vision Products Factory at Nimmaluru, Krishna district, established by Bharat Electronics Limited at Rs 360 crore, which will manufacture advanced electro-optical systems for India’s Defence Forces and generate skilled employment.
