New Delhi : As speculation grows over the unity of the Mahagathbandhan in Bihar, Purnea MP Pappu Yadav assured reporters on Wednesday that the alliance leaders are coordinating effectively. Moreover, he emphasized that they are prepared to “make any sacrifice to save Bihar.”
Speaking to reporters, Yadav said, “There will be a joint press conference tomorrow. The leadership will decide what to do, what not to do, and what will happen. Also, our leaders are ready to make any sacrifice. We want Bihar to survive under any circumstances. An INDIA bloc government should form in Bihar.”
In addition, Yadav expressed strong support for Rahul Gandhi as the alliance’s face in Bihar.
“Under all circumstances, we need to contest the elections under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership. Furthermore, people of this state trust his struggle,” he added, placing the Congress leader at the center of the alliance’s electoral strategy.
Meanwhile, Congress MP Akhilesh Prasad Singh confirmed that senior national leaders will join the campaign trail.
“Rahul Gandhi will come, Priyanka will come too, and all senior leaders will join the election campaign,” Singh said. As a result, the campaign will gain momentum quickly.
Additionally, senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot downplayed reports of seat-sharing disputes.
“There’s no major dispute here. In a large alliance with 243 seats, minor disagreements over 5–10 seats are normal. However, in any alliance, differences can happen,” he explained.
Also, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) announced it will not contest the Bihar Assembly elections this time. In response, Congress leader Udit Raj urged the alliance to stay flexible.
“Congress is making adjustments, and JMM should do the same. Protecting the Constitution and democracy sometimes requires minor compromises. Similarly, we followed this approach in Jharkhand and expect the same here,” Raj said.
Despite minor frictions, opposition leaders reaffirmed their commitment to present a united front against the BJP-led NDA. Consequently, the alliance will enter the Bihar elections stronger. Voters will decide in the Assembly polls on November 6 and 11, with results announced on November 14.
