The New Higher Secondary Principals of 102 newly upgraded schools, along with ADEOs from 17 districts, attended a one-day orientation organized by DHSE, Odisha, at Krushi Bhawan to enhance leadership, administration, and academic management skills.
Bhubaneswar, Odisha : The Directorate of Higher Secondary Education (DHSE), Odisha, organized a one-day orientation programme for the principals of 102 newly upgraded higher secondary schools, along with Additional District Education Officers (ADEOs) from 17 districts. The event took place at the Auditorium of Krushi Bhawan.
Distinguished guests included Smt. Subhashree Nanda, Additional Secretary, Department of School & Mass Education; Sri Mrunalkanti Dash, Chairman, Council of Higher Secondary Education; Sri Birendra Karakara, Director, Directorate of Secondary Education; Smt. Niyati Patnaik, Director, Directorate of Higher Secondary Education; Sri Ramesh Chandra Sethi, Additional Director, Regional Directorate; and Smt. Sasmita Mali, Joint Director, DHSE.
In her welcome address, DHSE Director Smt. Patnaik highlighted the orientation’s objectives and extended greetings to all participants. Director of Secondary Education, Sri Karakara, shared his experiences with the principals and encouraged learning from the insights of those from previously upgraded schools. CHSE Chairman, Sri Dash, emphasized the importance of quality teaching, while Additional Secretary Smt. Nanda stressed skill-based education and urged grooming students in line with the National Education Policy 2020 to make them employable and self-reliant. Joint Director Smt. Sasmita Mali conducted the programme, and Deputy Director Sri Madhusudan Mallik delivered the vote of thanks.
The technical sessions featured discussions on e-Admission 2025–26 through the SAMS portal and fee structures for upgraded higher secondary schools. They also covered career counselling, webinars, scholarship schemes, and deliberations on Samagra Shiksha, school administration, and management. The final session focused on self-defence training programmes and split-up curriculum planning.
