Cuttack, Odisha : The Odisha Vigilance today launched extensive raids at five locations linked to Sri Kishore Kumar Sahani, Senior Assistant, City Hospital (O/o CDMO), Cuttack, in connection with allegations of large-scale financial irregularities. Sahani is accused of misappropriating over ₹1.24 crore of government funds and amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
According to Vigilance officials, the searches are being conducted simultaneously across multiple sites in Cuttack district. The operation is being carried out by 9 Deputy Superintendents of Police, 10 Inspectors, 7 ASIs, and supporting staff, under search warrants issued by the Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack.
The following premises have been covered during the operation:
- A three-storey residential building at Jobra Nuasahi, Cuttack.
- Another building and poultry farm at Palasia, Choudwar.
- His office chamber at O/o CDMO, Cuttack.
- The residence of his in-laws at Deula Sahi, Tulsipur.
- His paternal house at Uttarakula, under Kishorenagar police station.
Preliminary reports suggest that a detailed scrutiny of documents, property records, and financial statements is underway to establish the extent of the alleged misappropriation. Officials stated that the raids are focused on collecting evidence of disproportionate assets, including immovable property and bank transactions.
The Vigilance Department has intensified its crackdown on corruption in recent months, with several government employees coming under the scanner for alleged diversion of public funds. Sources said further details regarding the seized documents and properties would be shared once the searches are completed.
The case has sparked strong reactions within the health sector, as the accused held a key position in City Hospital under the Chief District Medical Officer’s office. Search operations are still in progress, and a comprehensive report is awaited.
