Bhubaneswar : The Odisha Vigilance today launched disproportionate assets (DA) searches against Sri Surendra Behera, Superintending Engineer (SE), Irrigation Division, Angul.
Acting on allegations of amassing assets beyond his known sources of income, Vigilance teams carried out simultaneous raids at 8 locations linked to Behera across Bhubaneswar, Rourkela, Sundargarh, Angul, and Ganjam.
The operation is being led by 3 DSPs, 10 Inspectors, 4 ASIs, and supporting staff, under search warrants issued by the Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Sundargarh.
Locations under search:
A triple-storeyed building at Sundargarh Town
A double-storeyed building at Gopabandhu Nagar, Rourkela
Flats 402 & 403 at Aurovila-1, Phase-3, Ghatikia, Bhubaneswar
Paternal house at Ranjhali, Ganjam
House of in-laws at Aladigaon, Ganjam
Govt. quarter at Irrigation Colony, Angul
Office room at Irrigation Division, Angul
Officials confirmed that the searches are still in progress and further details regarding seizures and valuation of assets will be revealed after completion of the operation.
The raid comes as Odisha Vigilance continues its crackdown on government officials accused of corruption and accumulation of disproportionate wealth.
