Jharsuguda, Odisha : Odisha authorities have launched a strict crackdown on urea fertilizer black marketing in Jharsuguda’s Kirmira area. Following complaints from local farmers, the departmental team seized illegal urea stocks during a night raid and registered an FIR against those involved.
Officials, including the District Agriculture Officer, Block Agriculture Officer, and Fertilizer Inspector, visited the Kirmira Pacs area after farmers alerted authorities about the illegal activity. Investigations revealed that the society secretary of the pacs was allegedly involved in selling 26 bags of urea fertilizer unlawfully. A complaint has been lodged with the police in the presence of the local Tahsildar.
The government clarified that enforcement operations against black marketing of fertilizers continue across the state. Authorities are committed to ensuring farmers receive fertilizers at the appropriate price and are taking stringent measures to curb illegal trade.
The Agriculture Department reiterated its dedication to supporting farmers by providing essential agricultural inputs at fair rates, safeguarding their interests, and maintaining supply chain integrity.
